Marine debris is a killer of hundreds and thousands of marine mammals, birds, turtles and fish every year. Floating plastics resemble a variety of food sources. The blind innocence of animals not conditioned to an ocean full of plastic means many creatures take advantage of the seemingly 'easy meal'. Ingestion leads to a slow and painful death.
